How to Forget Past Hurts and Painful Experiences

We all carry a lot of heavy baggage from the past, things such as a broken heart, hurt feelings, or bad memories of friends or loved ones that have lied, cheated, or betrayed us, events that may have brought us pain; we even torment ourselves over opportunities we may have missed out on or even wrong choices we made in our life.
But it is not possible to roll back time or undo or change any decisions we made, neither can any wrongs done to us be reversed. However, we can change how we feel about them, so that they will stop tormenting our important present.
One of the most terrible mistakes people make in life is worrying over circumstances, much worse if it is in the past. Imagine how funny this is, when people make mistakes , fail or lose money in some way, they react to it by worry and thus losing peace of mind, instead of pulling themselves together on time to make wiser decisions and see better opportunities in the nearest future, they compound the losses, which is now more than what is lost initially.

It has been proved scientifically that the damage worry does to the brain is irreversible even when the source of concern has been removed, so every time you mull over a painful experience, you are actually tearing your brain beyond repair (though in tiny bits, this doesn’t help in any way!) .

How You Can Forget Painful Past Experiences

Meditation is simply collecting our thoughts in a relaxing atmosphere. Think about how whatever things that happened to you in the past may have been a benefit to you. You will have to look at past situations you cannot change in a brighter light with a new understanding of the events in the past, to know why they hurt so much, then let go of it all.

Forgiveness

After shining the light of your new understanding on those events that happened, the next thing is to forgive yourself and all others involved. As the saying goes : forgiveness is not something we do for others, but for ourselves . You cannot fully recover from hurt without really forgiving whole heartedly.

Never allow things of the past to dominate your present life, let all be bye-gone
